The Butchart Gardens Invites You to Their Upcoming Job Fair

February 6, 2020, Victoria, B.C. – The Butchart Gardens will be holding a Job Fair on Wednesday, February 12 from 6–8pm.

The Gardens is offering an entry level starting wage of $15.95 an hour and is recruiting for spring and summer, with employment opportunities in most departments.

One of the largest employers on the Saanich Peninsula with over 600 employees during peak times, The Gardens has an emphasis on job equity, safety and thorough on-the-job training, with senior staff acting as mentors.

“We have always attracted a broad spectrum of applicants – from students to seniors– for spring and summer, with many returning during the Christmas season and year after year. Offering a great training ground in the industry, we pride ourselves in providing a friendly, welcoming environment in which to work. Many of our seasonal staff move on to other positions within the company”, said Jeannie Christison, Director of Human Resources.

The Gardens offers a variety of positions in departments such as Visitor Services, Food Services, Gardening and Gift Store.

The Job Fair will be held in the Coffee Shop of The Butchart Gardens, 800 Benvenuto Avenue, Brentwood Bay, with an exclusive gate opening for the event. BC Transit will be operating routes 81 and 75 with service to The Gardens the evening of February 12. Bring a resumé and cover letter or simply show up to learn more. Please note, The Gardens are not open for viewing during the Job Fair.

The Butchart Gardens is an internationally renowned 55-acre (22 hectare) display garden located near Victoria, British Columbia. Created in 1904 by Jennie Butchart, and still privately owned and operated by family descendants, The Gardens has been designated a National Historic Site of Canada and welcomes over one million visitors a year.
