Helpful Information

The Butchart Gardens

The Butchart Gardens, an internationally renowned 55-acre (22 hectare) show garden located near Victoria, British Columbia, was created in 1904 by Jennie Butchart. The Gardens, designated a National Historic Site of Canada, is still family owned and operated by Mrs. Butchart’s great granddaughter.  Open year round, it welcomes close to one million visitors annually.  The temperate climate on Vancouver Island allows for a variety of flowers, shrubs and trees not often seen in other parts of Canada thus creating beauty in every season. Year round, visitors enjoy Rose Carousel rides, Afternoon Tea in The Dining Room Restaurant, light snacks in the Coffee Shop, and a stop in the Seed & Gift Store.
