When does your 12 Month Pass expire?

We no longer print an expiry date on your 12-Month Pass to reduce plastic waste and save you time when renewing. You may now create an online account for yourself, allowing you to view your expiry date, renew your pass, and change your contact information. You can also check your expiry date at the Admission Gate and in the Information Centre.

12 Month Pass Renewal Information

Passes can only be renewed AFTER they have expired. As a result, in order to get the most out of your pass renewal, we recommend that you wait until you wish to return to The Gardens for a visit.

Pass holders can simply use their pass until the time that our admission gate attendant informs them that it has expired. You can then simply renew your card at the admission gate.

You can create a pass-holder account for yourself online, where you will be able to view the expiry date, renew your pass and edit personal contact information.

Additionally, we have installed a self-serve scanner in the Information Centre that will display your expiry date when you swipe your pass through it.

THE PURCHASE OF A 12 MONTH PASS ENTITLES YOU TO A YEAR’S WORTH OF VIEWING THE GARDENS ONLY.

Admission restrictions apply on Firework Saturdays and Special Event Days, when offered.

10% discount on all food purchased at The Gardens.
- Excluding alcohol. Not valid with other discounts, promotions or events.
10% discount on in-store purchases from the Seed & Gift Store.
- Excludes gift cards, prepaid tickets, and postage stamps. Not valid for online shopping.
Adult 12 Month Pass holders will receive a 10% discount on admission for up to 4 adults arriving together.
- Cannot be combined with any other offer. Excludes Youth and Child passes.
Complimentary evening entertainment in July and August (excluding Firework Saturdays).

In order to receive your discount in the Food Services venue and the Seed & Gift Store, your pass must be presented.

The 12 Month Pass is non-transferable and non-refundable.

Admission Restrictions

12 Month Passes are not valid after 4:00pm on Firework Saturdays or Special Event days, when offered. 12 Month Pass holders who arrive for a daytime visit on a Firework Saturday or Special Event day will be charged our full adult rate which will be fully refunded if they depart by 4:00pm. Pass holders will be parked at the southern end of the Bus Parking lot and must exit The Gardens through the Turnstiles. Please note close parking will not be available on these days.

12 Month Pass Agreement

All sales of Annual Passes are final and non-refundable. Annual Passes and associated pass benefits are exclusively for non-commercial use by individual pass holders and cannot be sold or transferred. Pass benefits are printed on the front of the Pass. Pass holder must present Pass to gain entry at Admission Gate, and to receive the benefits offered by THE BUTCHART GARDENS’ restaurants or gift store (“THE GARDENS”).

Notwithstanding anything else in this Visitor’s Agreement, Annual Passes are not valid after 4:00pm on Firework Saturdays and Special Event Days, and on these days, for the entire day, 12 Month Pass holders WILL BE CHARGED ADMISSION WHICH WILL BE REFUNDED IF THEY LEAVE BY 4:00pm. Regular parking will not be available and pass holders must follow the direction of traffic staff.

It is the responsibility of the pass holder to determine the dates on which their Pass is not valid each year by checking www.butchartgardens.com. All Passes are licenses revocable by THE GARDENS. The Pass will be seized and automatically revoked without refund if it is used by someone other than the pass holder whose photo appears on the Pass, or if the pass holder conducts themselves in a way considered to be unsuitable by THE GARDENS.
