The Magic of Christmas at The Butchart Gardens

Victoria, BC – Gather your friends and family and enjoy a visit to The Butchart Gardens this season for The Magic of Christmas. The annual tradition begins December 1 with the official Light Up at 5:00pm. To celebrate, visitors will enjoy FREE carousel rides for the entire evening. Bundle up and stroll through the Twelve Days of Christmas display and experience thousands of twinkling lights, festive greenery and magical displays. With traditional carollers and festive brass, there is no shortage of seasonal sounds and Christmas magic at The Gardens.
The Gardens will be open 3:00pm – 9:00pm with viewing until 10:00pm. We will be closed on Christmas day to allow staff to enjoy the day with their families and loved ones. The Gardens is once again encouraging visitors to reserve their date and time to visit. Timed entrance tickets can be booked online at butchartgardens.com
The Dining Room Restaurant will be open for Holiday High Tea from 2:45pm – 3:30pm and then for dinner from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Reservations are strongly recommended. The Blue Poppy Restaurant will be open from 4:00pm – 8:00pm daily.
The Coffee Shop, The Seed & Gift Store and the Rose Carousel will also be open.
For children 12 and under, we invite you to make your own snowflake at home from an 8½x11 sheet of white paper. Bring it to The Gardens when you visit, and we will trade you a cup of hot chocolate for your snowflake at our Coffee Shop. Some of the snowflakes will be displayed in the Coffee Shop windows!
Pets are welcome from 8:00pm – 10:00pm only.
Admission is $35 for adults, $17.50 for youth (13 – 17), $3 for children (5 – 12) and free for those under 5 years old. Admissions can be upgraded to 12 Month Passes at the Visitor Information Centre on the day of your visit.
The Butchart Gardens is an internationally renowned 55 – acre display garden located near Victoria, British Columbia. Created in 1904 by Jennie Butchart, and still privately owned and operated by the family, The Gardens has been designated a National Historic Site of Canada.
