Jenny Hildebrand creates fashion as a feltwear designer working primarily in wool and silk. A self-taught artist, designer and maker, Jenny combines the ancient processes of hand felting with modern techniques to create luxurious contemporary pieces.

Born in Vancouver in 1959 and raised in the lower mainland, she currently lives and works from her home studio in Victoria BC. Jenny draws her inspiration from the natural beauty of the Saanich Peninsula. It was here, on two hobby farms, she, and her husband of 35 years, raised their two children. While she worked in property development for several years she never considered her fibre and textile art as mere hobbies, rather as an integral part of her creative life, and natural extension of her farm labours.

We are proud to welcome and feature Jenny in the Gallery this year. Over the Easter weekend, she will be demonstrating her felting techniques in the Gallery.
