The Butchart Gardens is honoured to be located in the traditional territory of the WSÁNÉC people and recognizes and celebrates the rich cultural heritage of our local Indigenous communities by proudly displaying two poles, designed and carved in the classic Coast Salish style by master carver Charles Elliott of the W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip) First Nation and Doug Lafortune of the SȾÁ¸EUTW̱ (Tsawout) First Nation.
Please visit the history section of our website for more information on these significant and beautiful poles.
