May 8 update: please note this display is no longer in bloom.
At the end of World War II the Dutch Royal Family donated 100,000 Tulip bulbs to Canada as a token of appreciation for Canada’s role in liberating the Netherlands, and for housing members of the Royal Family during the war. The Liberation 75 Tulip was developed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of this important date.

In celebration of the anniversary, the Liberation 75 Tulips are planted alongside yellow World Friendship Tulips in recognition of the friendship between our two countries.
